1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RunClubDirect ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Description of Service

RunClubDirect is a directory platform that helps runners discover run clubs, running routes, and running events. Club owners can claim and manage their listings, create routes, and post club runs. Event organizers can post events at no cost. The platform is funded by brand and partner sponsorships.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account by signing in with your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One person may not maintain multiple accounts.

4. Club Listings

Submitting a Club: Anyone can submit a run club to the directory. Submissions are subject to review and approval. We reserve the right to reject or remove any listing.

Claiming a Club: Club owners can claim their listing to manage it. By claiming a club, you represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of that club. We may request verification of ownership.

Accuracy: Club owners are responsible for keeping their listing information accurate and up to date. Misleading or fraudulent listings will be removed.

5. Routes & Content

Routes created on the platform are associated with the creating club. By creating a route, you grant RunClubDirect a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute the route data as part of the platform.

You retain ownership of your content. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe on third-party rights.

6. User-Submitted Content & Media

Your warranty. When you submit a club, upload a club image or logo, post an event, create a route, or otherwise contribute content, you represent and warrant that you either own all rights to that content or have obtained the necessary permissions from the rights holders, including any people identifiable in photographs.

Your license to us. You grant RunClubDirect a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute the content you submit for the purpose of operating the Site and promoting your listing.

No third-party scraping. RunClubDirect does not systematically scrape content from third-party platforms (including Instagram). Club profile images shown on the Site are either uploaded directly by the club owner during the claim process or have been provided with explicit permission. If you believe any image on the Site is being used without permission, see the DMCA procedure below.

Indemnification. You agree to indemnify RunClubDirect against any third-party claim arising from content you submitted in breach of this section.

7. Reviews

Users may submit reviews of run clubs. Reviews must be honest, relevant, and not contain hate speech, threats, personal attacks, or spam. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines. Review submissions are rate-limited to prevent abuse.

8. Sponsorships

Brand & Partner Sponsorships: Brands, running stores, race organizers, and other partners may sponsor specific inventory on the platform (for example, homepage hero, featured club slots, featured event tier, blog sponsorships, newsletter placements, and geo-targeted takeovers). Sponsored placements are clearly labeled and are billed through Stripe Invoices against an agreed-upon scope and duration.

Editorial independence: Sponsorship does not influence organic search results, club ranking, route data, or review content. Sponsored placements appear in dedicated slots alongside organic content.

No fees for users or clubs: Listing a club, posting an event, creating a route, and browsing the directory are all free. Runners are never charged.

Refunds: Sponsorship invoices are non-refundable once a placement is live. If a placement fails to deliver agreed impressions due to a platform issue, we will make it good with an extension or credit.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Site without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its infrastructure
• Impersonate another person or organization
• Use the Site for any illegal purpose
• Submit spam, advertisements, or solicitations through reviews or listings
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts

10. Intellectual Property

The RunClubDirect name, logo, and site design are our property. Map data is provided by Mapbox and OpenStreetMap contributors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary content without permission.

11. DMCA Copyright Policy

We respect intellectual property rights and will respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on the Site infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice to dmca@runclubdirect.com that includes:

1. Your physical or electronic signature, and your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
3. The URL on RunClubDirect where the infringing material appears, with enough detail for us to locate it.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner.

We will review valid notices promptly and may remove or disable access to the material. Repeated infringers will have their accounts terminated. If you believe content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of club listings, route data, event information, or reviews. Use of running routes is at your own risk — always verify conditions and safety before running an unfamiliar route.

13. Limitation of Liability

RunClubDirect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to injuries sustained while running routes listed on the platform.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
